Celebrating Black History Month

Society Hill Playhouse is proud to present

the world premiere production of Walt Vail's new work

In this fascinating look at a pivotal moment in sports history Branch Rickey, general manager and part owner of the 1950 Brooklyn Dodgers, addresses a group of people in the Ebbet’s field conference room and relates the story of how baseball’s major league color barrier was broken with the hiring of Jackie Robinson in 1947.BRANCH is a play about racism in American culture, and about one man who did something about it when the timing and opportunity were right. It is being produced as part of the Black History month celebration and is more relevant than ever in today’s world of an African American President.

The show will run weekends from February 3rd to the 26th. Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 215-923-0210.

Society Hill Playhouse is pleased to announce we'll be holding a month long raffle for a baseball signed by Shane Victorino of the Philadelphia Phillies! Shane is a recipient of the Branch Rickey Award, given to a major league baseball player in recognition of excellent community service and outreach.
All proceeds will benefit the Shane Victorino Foundation.

$5 for 1 ticket, $20 for 5 tickets.
